The course aims to teach students the fundamental theories of international relations. It provides students with a general information on the mainstream traditional theories of international relations such as realism and liberalism. It contains both middle ground theories such as the English School and Constructivism; and critical theories such as Marxism, Post-Structuralism, Post-Colonialism, and Feminism. The course gives students an understanding of today's international system and its major problems. It also focuses on creating rules and frameworks of analysis in the international system.
